感冒和流感自然疗法

普通感冒 (Common cold) 是一种呼吸道感染,可以由几百种病毒中的任何一种引起。由于到处都存在病毒,因此感冒更确切的说是由于人体免疫力的下降才“允许”其中的一种病毒掌控。在冬季,感冒相对更常见,但没有人知道其确切的原因。几乎每个人都有过感冒,但有些人经常感冒,还有一些人感冒会持续特别长的时间。

感冒

常规药物既不能治愈感冒,也不能预防它的发生。至今还没发现能缩短感冒病程、甚至能起暂时性缓解作用的药物。事实上,止咳糖浆几乎毫无疗效。倒是下面描述的几种天然疗法可能对治疗和预防感冒有一定的效果。相比较而言,流感 (Flu) 的治疗现状要好些。不仅流感疫苗对一些流感病毒株有预防作用,而且还有一些抗病毒药物也有预防流感的作用,它们还可能缩短流感的病程和减轻症状。

  • 锌 (Zinc):治疗感冒有一种常用的替代疗法,就是使用锌鼻凝胶剂或锌锭剂,这是因为锌释放出来的锌离子可直接抑制鼻腔及咽喉部的病毒。低剂量的口服锌补充剂也可能有帮助,这是因为如果体内没有足够的锌,免疫系统就不能发挥其正常功能,而饮食中缺锌很常见,尤其对于儿童和老年人,因此易感冒的人补充锌剂是有益的。一项对50例养老院老人的研究发现补充锌剂能够减少病毒感染的发生。另外,在发展中国家开展的10多项其他研究也发现补充锌剂能增强儿童对呼吸道等感染的抵抗力,减轻疾病严重程度。但注意:锌并不是补得越多越好。一旦体内有充足的锌元素,再增加也没什么用,甚至可能对人体有害。
  • 紫锥花 (Echinacea):在19世纪30年代之前的美国,紫锥花一直是流感和感冒的首选治疗方法。直到磺胺类抗生素的出现,它才不被广泛应用。可笑的是,磺胺类抗生素和其他任何一种抗生素一样,对治疗感冒没有效果,倒是紫锥花至少有点帮助。在德国,紫锥花仍是轻度呼吸道感染的首选用药。它可能通过短暂刺激免疫系统来减轻感冒症状、缩短病程。举个例子,一项涉及80例有早期感冒症状的参与者的双盲临床试验中,研究人员给予每位参与者紫锥花提取物或安慰剂。结果显示服用紫锥花提取物的患者恢复明显快得多。另外还有研究发现长在土壤上面的紫锥花部分(即花、叶、茎混合制剂) 对治疗感冒和流感最有效,而它的根可能没有多大用处。
