充血性心力衰竭(CHF) 是一种严重的疾病。它 会引起肺和下肢的水肿、心脏增大、严重疲乏、平躺时呼吸困难以及脑功能受损。不过,常规治疗 (往往是通过几种药物的联合治疗) 对该疾病非常有效。

由于CHF是一种严重的疾病,仅靠自然疗法治疗是不够的。但在医生的监控下,有些非药物的自然疗法还是有帮助的。如山楂似乎对轻度CHF有效,对严重的CHF可能也有帮助。另外,在常规治疗方案中添加辅酶Q10可能改善其疗效。还有,补充维生素B1(硫胺)对服用袢利尿剂(如呋塞米)的CHF患者可能有益。
- 山楂 (Hawthorn):至少有9项共计约750位参与者的双盲临床试验已经发现:山楂对轻中度的CHF有作用。它能增强心脏的收缩功能、增加运动耐受性、减少气短和乏力的发生。另外,它还有独特的功效,即在强心的同时还能稳定心律。一般说来,山楂提取物是安全的。常用剂量:每天900-1800mg。
- 辅酶Q10(CoQ10):CHF患者心肌细胞内CoQ10的含量明显要比正常人低。但是,单从这一点并不能说明补充CoQ10对CHF有帮助。然而,医学研究者因此尝试了通过补充CoQ10来治疗CHF。一项为期1年的临床研究评估了CoQ10对641位中重度CHF患者的疗效。所有患者在接受正规治疗的同时,其中一半患者每天给予每公斤体重2mg 的CoQ10,另外一半患者给予安慰剂。结果显示:服用CoQ10的患者症状明显减轻,而安慰剂组没有改善。同时,服用CoQ10的患者中因心衰而住院治疗的人数也明显要少。
- 维生素B1:有证据显示治疗心衰的常用强效利尿剂(如呋塞米)会干扰体内维生素B1的代谢。由于心脏依靠维生素B1来发挥其正常功能,因此有必要补充维生素B1。事实上,初步研究证据证实补充维生素B1能改善CHF患者的心功能。
- 黄连素 (Berberine):在我国实施的一项研究显示:黄连素(由多种草药包括白毛茛和小檗等组成)能降低CHF的死亡率,改善患者的生活质量。
- 其他补充制剂:研究显示其他补充制剂如镁 (Magnesium)、氨基酸牛磺酸 (Taurine)、L-卡尼汀 (L-carnitine)、精氨酸 (Arginine)、肌肉素 (Creatine) 等,单用或和CoQ10联用也可能改善CHF症状。
