失眠自然疗法

根据近期报道,当今社会很多人都有严重的睡眠问题,想睡个好觉不容易。有时是因为我们太忙,没有足够的时间睡觉。但更糟糕的是,我们当中有很多人有时间睡,但睡不着。要知道绝大多数睡眠不足的人会出现各种各样不愉快的症状,最常见的有头痛、精神错乱、易激惹、全身不适、免疫缺陷、抑郁、疲乏等。若睡眠完全剥夺则会导致幻觉和精神崩溃。

失眠

改善睡眠最好的方法就是改变生活方式:包括去除饮食中的咖啡因和糖、睡觉前避免过度兴奋的活动、养成有规律的睡眠时间以及睡觉前让灯光逐渐变暗。另外,有很多安眠药物 (如扎来普隆、鲁尼斯塔、唑吡坦、替马西泮、氯羟安定和阿普唑仓等) 可用于改善睡眠。在上述药物中,只有鲁尼斯塔的安全性经过长期的临床验证。所有这些药物本质上都是镇静剂,因此有产生依赖性和滥用的可能。雷美替胺是一种新型的安眠药,其机理同褪黑激素相似,但作用要比褪黑激素强,故认为没有潜在的依赖性和滥用可能。除此之外,抗抑郁剂也能改善睡眠。某些小剂量抗抑郁药有使人昏睡的副作用,因此服完之后能迅速让人进入睡眠。但是这种效应会因反复使用而减弱。对于有长期睡眠问题的人来说,足量的抗抑郁剂可能会起效。这和抗抑郁剂能改变大脑内化学物质浓度,继而产生睡意有关。曲唑酮和阿米替林是两种最常用的兼有改善睡眠作用的抗抑郁剂,但其他多数抗抑郁剂也应该同样有效。

虽然目前科学证据还不确切,但草药缬草和褪黑激素被广泛认为可用于某些类型的失眠症治疗。

  • 缬草 (Valerian):缬草治疗失眠症已经有很长久的历史。如今在德国、比利时、法国、瑞士、意大利,缬草已经被批准为一种治疗失眠的非处方药。有些(不是全部)双盲临床研究发现缬草单独使用或和其他草药联用能改善睡眠。还有一些其他研究比较了缬草(单独使用或与啤酒花、蜜蜂花联用)和苯二氮卓类安眠药物之间改善睡眠的疗效差异。结果大多数研究显示它们疗效相当。

  • 褪黑激素 (Melatonin):褪黑激素是一种能帮助控制人体睡眠-觉醒周期的天然激素。它是由大脑中的松果体分泌的血清素在光线变暗时转化而来的。因此从理论上讲,当人体睡眠-觉醒周期紊乱的时候,补充褪黑激素能刺激睡眠,这可能还与它的镇静作用有关。虽然不是所有的研究都支持这一点,但是在2001年发表的一篇综合性分析指出褪黑激素对时差导致的睡眠障碍确有一定的作用。其中最有说服力的一项双盲研究是针对横跨6-8个时区的320位旅游者进行的。参与者随机分成4组,每天分别给予5mg标准褪黑激素、5mg缓释的褪黑激素、0.5mg标准褪黑激素以及安慰剂。结果显示:服用5mg标准褪黑激素的参与者睡得最香、入睡所需的时间最短、早上起来精神最好。另外一些研究发现,褪黑激素对于普通的失眠症、上夜班的工人失眠、老年人失眠也显示出初步疗效。举个例子,很多人因为会在周五、周六熬夜,到了周日发现很难在一个合理的时间点睡着。一项小规模的双盲研究显示这些人在睡前5.5个小时服用褪黑激素能改善入睡状态。研究人员还发现,褪黑激素对睡眠时相延迟综合征(DSPS)也有一定的作用。所谓DSPS,是指一些人很难在前半夜入睡,往往直到凌晨才有睡意的状况。另外,试图戒断苯二氮卓类安眠药的人们可能发现褪黑激素有帮助。一项对34例长期服用苯二氮卓类安眠药的参与者的双盲研究发现:每晚2mg褪黑激素(控制缓释剂)能帮助他们戒掉服用该药物。褪黑激素短期服用是安全的,但长期服用的安全性尚未研究。
  • 褪黑激素

  • 其他可能有效的天然疗法:指压疗法 (Acupressure) 和针灸疗法可能有助于睡眠,但支持的证据到目前为止还不太充分。一项对84例养老院里老人的研究发现:指压疗法能明显改善睡眠质量,经指压疗法治疗的老人入眠更快且睡得更香。还有初步研究显示太极对有些睡眠障碍的人也有一定的效果。其中一项研究显示:有中度睡眠障碍的人经过25周的太极锻炼后改善了睡眠。另外,放松疗法也有点帮助,但效果不那么显著。失眠症患者还可以尝试用于治疗焦虑的草药,如上面提到的啤酒花 (Hops) 和香峰叶 (Lemon balm)。
