肠易激综合症自然疗法
肠易激综合症 (Irritable bowel syndrome,IBS) 这个术语通常用于描述未能找到明确病因的慢性结肠问题。常见的症状包括腹泻和便秘交替出现、胀气、肠绞痛、饭后腹部不适、大便时感觉不舒服以及经常感到肠子里有大便存在。尽管存在这些令人苦恼的症状,但是肠易激综合症患者的肠子在检查时总显示是很健康的。

因为肠易激综合症的病因尚不明确,常规的医学治疗还不是非常有效。有一种能促进肠道儒动的药物 Zelnorm 经美国药检局批准后因副作用太大已被禁售。另一种药物 Lotronex 也因安全问题被短暂禁售,后又被批准可在严格限制下使用。对肠易激综合症的其它医学治疗方法包括增加膳食纤维、服用能减少肠痉挛的药物以及控制腹泻或便秘的药物。另外,人们还尝试了各种心理治疗 (包括催眠),也取得了一些成功。
可能有效的自然疗法包括:
- 薄荷 (Peppermint): 薄荷油被广泛使用于肠易激综合症。目前的研究结果还不完全一致,但是,在13项已发表的研究中,有9项对照试验发现薄荷油比作为对照用的安慰剂更有效。
- 益生菌 (Probiotics): 许多双盲试验显示各种益生菌可能有益于肠易激综合症。例如,在一项双盲试验中,研究人员给274位肠易激综合症患者 (症状以便秘为主) 服用一种包含双歧杆菌 (Bifidobacterium animalis) 的益生菌制剂,结果发现患者在服用6星期后其不适感明显降低,并增加了大便的次数。在另一项临床试验中,266位患有便秘的女性每天两次食用含有双歧杆菌和寡聚果糖的酸奶 (寡聚果糖的作用是帮助肠道内有益细菌的生长),两周后患者的症状得到明显缓解。另一项研究涉及60位有肠积气症状的肠易激综合症患者,研究人员让患者服用乳酸杆菌 (L. plantarum) 4个星期。结果发现患者的症状得到了明显的改善,而且这种益处在停止治疗后还能维持整整一年。在另外5项小规模的双盲试验中,研究人员还发现其它益生菌有类似的益处。
